Since the first FrOSCon, LPI-examinations have taken place during the conference. The examination number has continually increased since then; in the last year, 54 LPI-examinations were taken. At the FrOSCon 2009 the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) also offers all of its available examinations:

• LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 (101, 102, 201, 202) – in German and in English,
• LPIC-3 (301, 302, 303*) – in English,
• Univention Certified Professional Examination (LPI 198) – in German.

* For the first time at the FrOSCon: LPIC-3/303 on the subject ‘Security’

The examinations will take place on Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00 and 15:00 o’clock. Attention: the number of examination-seats is limited and advance reservation is recommended.

The examination room will be signposted. Meeting point for all participants will be 15 minutes prior to examination begin in the examination room.

Visitors of the FrOSCon 2009 pay 75 EUR for any LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 examination as well as for the examinations 302 and 303. For examination 301, a fee of 95 EUR will be charged. This corresponds to about half of the standard fee charged in a Testcenter. The fee for the Univention Certified Professional examination is 85 EUR. Membership Bonus: employees from companies which are either Univention Premium Partners or Univention Partners can take the examination for 75 EUR in Berlin.

The participation fees for all offers must be paid in cash before the examination. Participants must produce valid photo identification and a valid LPI-Identification number. The LPI-identification number must be applied for under following URL: http://www.lpi.org/caf/Xamman/register

Important for all LPIC-1 and -2 candidates: At the FrOSCon 2009 only LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 examinations according to the new objectives will be offered. On April 1st, 2009 new versions of the exams to the certification programs LPIC-1 (examination LPI 101 and 102) and LPIC-2 (examination LPI 201 and 202) were released.
