the public at large for free. These certificates make it possible for you to protect your Weberver with HTTPS, Signing and encoding your e-mails with s/MIME digitally to proof your identity against others. You are therefore no longer dependent on self-signed certificates. The certificates are both for private and for organizations usable and always free. Interested parties can create at www.CAcert.org an account; name, password and a valid electronic mail address are the only thing wich is necessary. Now the person can be verified (assured) to proof his or her Identity to others. At the "Assurance" is the presentation of at least a valid transparency-card (e.g. driver's license, The identity card or passport) necessary, this one has to be shown at the stand of "Assurers" being checked and verified. At check having been carried out gets the users' points which reflect his trustworthiness. One a trustworthy user can certificates on the CAcert web site himself points to other users exhibit and additional over a "web of trust" allocating. See also wiki.cacert.org/wiki/FAQ/AssuranceByCAP if you want to be well prepared.

KiWi (Knowledge in a Wiki)
KiWi - Collaborating the Semantic Wiki Way
__________________________________________
Since the last years the way people use the web has radically changed. The world wide web turned into one great knowledge base, fed by people who share their knowledge with the world. Wikipedia is the
most familiar case example and wikis in general became one of the most applied social applications on the web. They provide easy and efficient
platforms for collaboration and documentation, but introduce one major problem: chaos.
The intention of the 'KiWi' project (the name originally meant 'Knowledge in a Wiki'), is not to completely take back the chaos and introduce hard structure schemas, but rather to enhance content with semi-structure and semantics. KiWi is an EU project in the 7th Framework Programme and aims to result in a social-semantically enhanced platform, which introduces services like a semantic search engine, a linked open data interface, digital signature and encryption services for collaboratively created data.
KiWi is build with the JBoss Seam Framework and licensed under the New BSD license.
We are aiming to present the main features of the KiWi framework and motivate the Open Source community to use and further develop the project.
A detailed description about KiWi can be found here:

The project also releases some portable software: mksh, a pdksh-based shell; PaxMirabilis, an archiver for various formats; MirMake, a framework for building software; MirNroff, an AT&T nroff based man page (and text document) formatter; MirCksum, a flexible checksumming and hash generation tool; and some more.
Meyer Business Services GmbH
NetBSD
NetBSD was started 1993 to continue the multi-platform capability of the old Berkeley Unix (BSD). From this stems it's almost striking feature of being able to run on so many hardware platforms - more than 50! NetBSD supports more architectures from a single source code than any other operating system. Hence the project's slogan: Of course it runs NetBSD! This expresses the attitude of the NetBSD developers: Write correct code on the basis of abstracted system interfaces which is secure, stable, portable and fast. In many cases the choice for NetBSD is easy since there's simply no alternative on some hardware platforms. These range from embedded devices and handhelds over to Desktop PCs and 64 bit SMP-Opteron systems with multiple CPU cores. Lately there's been strong initiative supporting virtualization platforms like Xen. Applications for NetBSD are available with the NetBSD package collection „pkgsrc”, now used by DragonFly BSD too. Today there are a few thousand applications available, from databases to webservers, from Desktop environments to firewall apps. LiveCDs for NetBSD are also available like NewBIE and Xenoppix.
O'Reilly
openITCOCKPIT
openITCOCKPIT is an open source project for system management based on Nagios. openITCOCKPIT is the result of several Nagios projects in complex IT landscapes. As umbrella management system, openITCOCKPIT integrates various open source tools making it a universal monitoring system: Starting from regional offices to the headquarter, from infrastructure to applications.
openITCOCKPIT supports all critical components, systems and services following industry standards and enables agent based monitoring as well as agentless monitoring. With its shared monitoring approach and bidirectional communication fpr master and slave systems, openITCOCKPIT can carry out cross-checks of several management servers. Besides distributing checks on several nodes, openITCOCKPIT also supports an alternative architecture approach with multi-layer strategy distinguishing between monitoring, aggregation, middleware, and presentation layer.
Compared to Nagios, openITCOCKPIT provides an intuitive web user interface. The management console is based on PHP and provides intuitive access to all data, analyses and reports. Dashboards help to identify problems before they hit.

Ubuntu-Community
The Ubuntu project settled its way so that Linux can be more accessible to a bigger mass. And it should never mind how much knowledge or handicaps are available. Everybody should be able to use the computer as support for different tasks or spending his free time.
It is not the main reason to keep the Ubuntu project as easy as possible but also to make the access to the community and to cooperate on the project in the easiest way.
To lighten the entrance Ubuntu delivers the most important applications (office applications, browsers, e-mail programs, ...) straight with. The main devise is to have only one application for one aim and not to confuse beginners.
Ubuntu will be issued every six months to make new developments and betterments in a stable enviroment available to every user.

Special programming paradigms apply only at the level of the various Zope frameworks. Frameworks and application servers like Zope 2, Bluebream, Grok or bfg.repoze facilitate building complex applications by providing useful pre-configured components.
The Zope software library is maintained by a large and open community of professional web developers under the umbrella of the Zope Foundation. The code copyright and the trademarks are owned by the Zope Foundation. The Zope Public License (ZPL) is an OSI-compliant open-source license.
With the object-oriented Zope Object Database (ZODB), Zope also provides a safe NoSQL database for mission-critical applications.
