FrOSCon 5 - August 21st/22nd, 2010

Free Software and Open Source – these are the topics of FrOSCon (Free and Open Source Software Conference). The computer science department of the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, supported by LUUSA and FrOSCon e.V. are yearly presenting an exciting programm with talks, workshops and an exhibition the third weekend in August. The social event, that takes place saturday night gives you the opportunity to exchange opinions with other visitors, speakers or volunteers. 2010 the fifth conference will take place on August, 21st and 22nd.

Java subconference at FrOSCon 2009

Large variety of topics wanted. Submit talks via the FrOSCon Call for Papers.

This year's subconference revolves around the Java programming language. It is organized by members of the german Java community, including FrOSCon alumn Marc Guillemot.

They are looking for talks about Java with a connection to Free Software/Open Source. While every topic is welcome, here are some suggestions:

  • Future of Java and the JVM
  • Java 7 Features
  • OpenJDK
  • Da Vinci Machine Project
  • Android
  • Java Content Repository
  • Cloud Computing
  • Experience from Java projects using Open Source
Submissions can be entered within the regular FrOSCon Call for Papers.
